So the weather in Paris is a good twenty degrees warmer than New York, I'd say. I can't be sure, as Celsius always throws me off. But either way, it's pleasant. You know what isn't pleasant? My hotel. It's like living in a sardine can and, I swear, they just put a feather bed on top of a plank and expect you to believe this is a five star hotel. If I was in a hotel like this in Los Angeles, there'd be crack whores out front. I had to make two trips in the lift (if it can be called that) to get my bags up, and now I'm being run out of my room by my own clothes! Not only that, I went downstairs to get a cup of coffee and bring it back to my room, and apparently I'm not allowed to take the cup and return it...when I'm in the same hotel.

Still, on a positive note, the view is nothing if not inspiring and, with such bad conditions in my room, I'm forced out into the social scene of Paris more. I seriously whoever is handling our travel has it in for me. Have I stepped on someone's toes without noticing? I did poor a latte on a girl in the elevator at work, but I was helping her. Her blouse was completely wrong and, rightfully, should have been burned. I should be canonized for my assistance, not condemned. Oh, I may have replaced all the decaf coffee in the staff lounge too, but only because there's no purpose in decaf! You're drinking coffee! And decaf tastes funny.

Anyway, the best thing about Paris this week? Menswear means male models. I'm surrounded by gorgeousness (unless it's the Ann Demeulemeester show - she strives to take the average man and turn him into a zombie, I swear). I went to the Hermés show today and it felt like an odd mix of my grandfather's clothing and something low budget like Gap. So I suppose if my grandfather fell into the Gap, he'd look like he was wearing Hermés. Still, there were a few pieces that were decent. My favourite thus far was the Comme des Garcons Homme collection. I love the rock and roll boys. But YSL was phenomenal too. And the runway presentation was spectacular.

You know, Paris is a very lonely city when you're here alone. In New York, you can be alone but it's not the same. Paris makes you feel like you should be here with someone and it's disconcerting. I never thought I'd miss New York but I think I may be having just a twinge of loneliness.
