Candle at San Simeon Bar ad Grill 9-2-10

I’m posting a live journal! It’s been far to long and I’ve been meaning to post on this archaic site. Well, here’s the scoop. Candle just played our second show in 2 months at the San Simeon Lodge/BBQ. It was really fun! Like always Candle had a new-er lineup. This time we had Kevin (acoustic guitar, harmonica, signing), Ross (mandolin, banjo), Bren Stevens (electric guitar), Morgan (bass, vocals), Rachel (keyboard, vocals), and myself on da drums. Thursday (the day of the show) was a long day for all of us especially considering that all of us worked during the day. One of the best features of playing at the San Simeon BBQ is the free meal; we got Fish and chips before the show, yummy! We began the show with a short acoustic set from separate songwriters Morgan Enos and Ross Major. It looked as though now one was going to come to the show, but then out of nowhere Anna Harris (A-Hari 04) brought a nice size Cal Poly crew and Rachel’s Nashville friends came as well. We also had a few people that just came to get drinks at the bar and stayed to check out The Candles. We played 15 songs, 2 of which were Rachel Spotten originals. It’s been really fun playing again, and it’s sad to think that I will now give it up to focus on the 2010 winemaking season at Sculpterra. But that is life. I’m a workingman and hopefully there will be another time when I can spend more time with Candle. Enjoy the pictures!
