PAUL
Ok, I’m back to discussing about Real Love. It’s been far too long. I’ve been torn away from Real Love, focusing all my energy on Sculpterra. I always thought that could become a reality but I never wanted to believe it. I miss music a lot, almost as much as I miss Kevin (who is still working hard in Alaska.) Sometimes I find myself remembering all the shows we’ve played whether in Candle, Elle Moss, MirrorWar, Kapiano, or Oh My Land. It’s great knowing that Kevin is still down to pursue music, it’s also great to still have people to play with and record. I just need to start making time to play music. It never seemed to be that way before, but it certainly that way now. The good news is that I still have the record label, still got all the recording equipment, the space, and the skillz. Just a bit out of practice that’s all. Let’s just say that this summer, I’m hoping (not promising) that I can focus on recording a new Candle album, finishing the Mayflower Twins, playing lots of shows, and recording Rachel’s Pot Music.
Rachel Spotten is back from Nashville and is engaged to none other than Randy Coons! She even played a show on Saturday at Sculpterra. I drummed, George Major played fiddle, and Brenneth Stevens played lead guitar. We played 7 Rachel songs, and 1 George Major song. That’s right folks, George busted out a song, he played “Walls” by Tom Petty, and it was sweet to the MAX. I didn’t get any pictures form the show, but it did happen and it was fun. I’ve also started recording once again with Patrick, Nolan and the rest of the Mayflower crew. We are now focusing on getting Rachel’s vocals and piano/keyboard parts done. Tomorrow we are resuming recording in the apartment. I’m going to try and get back on the schedule of working at the winery 7am-5pm then recording in the evenings. What else do we have to do! It’s been wonderful having Rachel and Randy back on the central coast. Here’s a photo of the happy couple on a hike yesterday on Montana De Oro, VALENCIA PEAK! I look forward to drumming and being with the band mates once again.
