A couple weekends ago Ian and I had the honor of joining Kelly and Joe Kaufman on their first day as husband and wife. They chose Crossroads, part of
Firestone Vineyard as their gorgeous location, and it was perfect for their intimate gathering. We were so excited to work with the fabulous Joy Proctor of
Joy de Vivre, who provided coordination, and helped the day run seamlessly .
Matt Armor of The All Occasion DJ kept guests on the dance floor all night. Guests traveled from as far as France to help the couple celebrate their wedding.
Kelly spent months putting together the details, from the luxurious letterpress place cards and menus to the parasols which shaded guests during the ceremony. Kelly took a floral arranging class so she could create the stunning centerpieces and bouquets. There was even an outdoor lounge area and fire pit where guests could go to watch the stars and roast marshmallows.
The event itself was incredibly touching, with Joe and Kelly reading their own vows. The ceremony ended with a kiss and the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass. Throughout the evening, the couple celebrated with a few more personal touches, including breaking of the bread and a song dedicated to Kelly. We got to sneak away for a few minutes to take some photos in the vineyard and take advantage of the tasty light and the newlyweds got to enjoy a few minutes to let things sink in. If you see the way Joe and Kelly look and each other, you know they will always take care of each other. Ian and I love our job, but sharing the day with a couple like this makes us even happier. -Tanya [our better writing half]
