Punk and his team had been just surprised as anyone else when the Viruses had invaded, but action was their watch word. It was almost as if they spent all their time waiting for disaster to happen.

Punk led the group's charge, tucking into his armor and rolling through a line of viruses. KendoMan followed after, slashing through the offending programs with his sword, while GateMan hung back, blasting them from a distance with Gate Cannon.

Footman?

"Hut, hut, HIKE!" The Navi grunted, as his digital, orange-uniform clad "team-mates" appeared at his side, charging alongside him to do a line tackle into a mass of the viruses.

Being stuck in the network had made it his home of sorts, and Phantom was going to defend it as long as he was able. The rush of viruses had surprised him, but not stalled him into jumping into the fray. He had joined the net navis who were fighting the viruses in the public node.

Phantom brought the saber down on an attacking virus shaped like that of a ear of corn. He quickly turned and flung out a trio of kunai that he created at some of the smaller viruses before they could latch onto the other navi's.

Suddenly, about 20 feet away, a football (of all things) crashed into a mass of Garuu viruses, deleting them instantly.

"Sir!" said Punk, as he ran up with his fellow Navis, the latter of which launched the projectile. "If you are friend, do you have an interest in fighting together to stop these fiends?"

Phantom made a soft 'hnn' sound which was lost in the sound of fighting as he summon up his beam shuriken in hand. He had been fighting alone thus far, but with the amount of viruses, it was likely only a matter of time before he couldn't watch his own back. He nodded at Punk as he gave his answer. "Allies towards a common goal."

Activating the blades on the shuriken, he threw it up onto the air, where it spun and flew in an arc, slicing through some airplane viruses as they swooped down to attack them.

Punk was silenced as he was leapt upon by pick axe-wielding Metools.

Gateman sighed, and blasted them off of their leader.

Phantom blinked as Punk got leapt upon by the mets and saved by his comrade. He just shook his head as he caught the beam shuriken as it returned to him. Summoning more kunai, he threw them towards another set of fish type viruses. "Save that talk till after the battle is over."

"Forgive our leader," said Kendoman, marching past Phantom. The boken-wielding Navi wastes no time in charging a group of the same set of viruses, using his clones to take their blows while he himself is unharmed.

"Nevertheless," said Gateman, continuing to fire his Gate Cannon. "Have you any idea who set this villainy in motion?"

"I have not been around long enough to-" Phantom paused as he ducked a spear shot from one of the remaining fish viruses in the area, and promptly destroyed it another well placed kunai. "Suspect someone. If you have thoughts on who it is, or how to stop this, I am willing to listen."

"It could be anyone with enough knowledge of viruses, and the skill to set to multiply them at such a rate," GateMan explained. "But I am not sure this invasion is limited to the Network."

There seemed to be a slight lull inbetween waves of viruses, and Phantom took this moment to ready more kunai in one hand. "Has there been any attempt to contact the outside world?"

"We have," GateMan replied. "But there is no one replying to the channels I attempt to make contact on. They are either incapacitated, or..."

Punk steps forward, ready to face the next wave of viruses. "Nevertheless, we MUST carry on. We do not know if anyone else remains on this Network, and someone MUST face these viruses..."

Phantom frowned at the thought of there being no contact with the outside world, but there was nothing he could do about it right now. Instead he just stood his ground as the next wave of viruses approached. "Then we shall fight as long as we have to."
