So, when the attack first began, it took a little while before the sounds of the fighting and panic reached where X was wandering the shelves, looking for a particular title that had caught his interest in a computer search.
X froze, hand extended to pull a book down off the shelf. That sounded like an explosion.
He turned up his audio sensitivity, and now he could hear the somewhat muffled sounds of weapons discharging, explosions, and screams of fear and panic coming from outside ( ... )

He was almost to the library by now, but he hadn't yet spotted X.

He peppered a pack of drones with plasma shots, the lead ones exploding and sending shrapnel into the ones coming up behind. X dodged back from the blast before sending a half-charged shot into the remaining drones. By the time the smoke cleared from the wreckage, X was already charging his buster again with a soft whine.
He glanced around for anymore drones in the immediate area, and spotted Axl coming into view down the street. One more glance at his combat scanning system and then he headed to intercept Axl.

After sending the teleport device he was carrying safely into data storage, he punched away another wolf bot before it could take a chunk out of him. If he didn't get a chance to grab his saber he was going to rip them apart with his hands if he had to.
