He hadn't exactly planned for a routine shopping trip to be interrupted by Death Chaos And Destruction, so he did the first and most logical thing that came to mind.
He dove into a nearby alley, stuck close to the wall, and prayed nothing saw him, quietly muttering a few phrases in Czech that were most definitely not fit for polite company (he'd learned more than just physics from Dr. Cervenka).
Without any weapon systems to defend himself, there wasn't much else he could do.

Normally he was rather irked that he looked like a twelve-year-old - it made it much harder for people to take him seriously. It occured to him now that it could work in his favor here; maybe anything attacking that had enough intelligence to know the difference would assume he wasn't a threat and pass over him.
Then again, looking at how things were going out there, it might just make him a more tempting target.
He really should've just slept in today.

Considering the current situation and her previous dislike of mechanicals, her words can hopefully be forgiven.
