City Hall [locked for now to _megaman_x, hunter_navi, and NPCs]

Alia was still shaky when she walked out of the testing room and towards the reception area within the City Hall. She hadn't recalled her armor to take a shot at the tester, but she had a good arm with the cup of assorted pens and pencils that had been sitting on his desk. She also belatedly realized that she hadn't offered to help clean up the ( Read more... )

Ari gave the mecha woman a sympathetic look and prepared a clipboard and the papers needed for completion of the ID application. She also pulled up the 'goodie' bag all new citizens were given. Ari knew she- Alia was her name- had passed. Siren had relayed a suggestion that Ari just let Alia calm down on her own.

Alia hung her head, and rubbed a hand over her forehead. It had been quite a long since the thought of being compared to her "siblings" of sorts crossed her mind. The comment of being lesser than them due to being transferred to the Hunters out of the reploid development program had hit close to home.

Shaking her head, she started thinking about the test and why the tester seemed to goad her into lashing out like that rather then the results it got. It was easier to think about the test in a scientific way than emotional. After a bit of thinking, she came to the conclusion of them causing a strong emotional response to determine sentience. That thought made her lift her head and glance worriedly at the doorway where the testing rooms lay beyond it. X hadn't come out testing yet, and she hoped he would be all right after his test was finished.

That was it. “Shut up!” X snapped, standing abruptly, his chair toppling behind him, the armrests cracked from his grip. “You’ve no right to pass judgement.” He snarled, his eyes narrowed and cold. “I don’t have to take this shit.” He turned and kicked the chair out of his way, leaving a dent in the metal bottom of the seat, and stalked out of the room.

X slammed the door behind him with a bang and stalked into the hall, seething. He didn’t need this. A piece of paper in a world that wasn’t his wasn’t worth this.

He didn’t want to go back to the waiting room yet. He clenched his hands into fists and paced away from the door. It’s your fault they’re dead. It was true, and he hated it. It hurt having it thrown in his face.

A cold blooded bastard to claim none of it’s your fault. He spun around and paced back the other way, angry and hurt. Killer like you He clenched his teeth and spun to slam his fist into the wall. Breathing heavily, he left his fist in the indent as he leaned against the wall, his eyes closed, ( ... )

Alia had been waiting to see when X would finished up test, her gaze wandering around the room, but always drifting back to the door to the testing area. It was only a few minutes before X walked out and she could see some of the traces of anger on his face, which didn't help aliviate her worry. It was rare to see X get angry. She sat up her chair and hesitantly spoke. "X? You all right?"
