Shaking her head, she started thinking about the test and why the tester seemed to goad her into lashing out like that rather then the results it got. It was easier to think about the test in a scientific way than emotional. After a bit of thinking, she came to the conclusion of them causing a strong emotional response to determine sentience. That thought made her lift her head and glance worriedly at the doorway where the testing rooms lay beyond it. X hadn't come out testing yet, and she hoped he would be all right after his test was finished.

X slammed the door behind him with a bang and stalked into the hall, seething. He didn’t need this. A piece of paper in a world that wasn’t his wasn’t worth this.
He didn’t want to go back to the waiting room yet. He clenched his hands into fists and paced away from the door. It’s your fault they’re dead. It was true, and he hated it. It hurt having it thrown in his face.
