Somewhere in the back of Netto's mind, Dark Rock stirred. He was still painfully weak, and he could tell something was wrong with both him and Netto.

N-Netto..? Wh..what happened?

Not even the "darkness" that had wrapped itself around Netto when they'd cross fused could keep him from trying to comfort his brother. He wrapped mental "arms" around Dark Rock, cuddling him. Shhh. It's okay. We're cross fused now. I think you got knocked unconscious when it happened.

Dark Rock 'curled' around Netto, searching for comfort and reassurance.

What hurts? Netto asked, confused. He wasn't in pain, and since they were cross fused, shouldn't they be feeling the same things? What's hurting you?

Netto panted as the light of cross fusion faded, even more tired than before. But it had worked. He wasn't alone anymore. Sorta. Something was... off about the cross fusion, but he was too tired to care. He needed to sleep. He'd have to trust that his heightened senses would alert him any approaching enemies, because he really had nowhere else to go. Crawling into a corner that was mostly concealed from view by rubble, Netto allowed himself to fall into a light, fitful sleep.

Dark Roll appeared inside the ruins. She was wanting to poke Netto, that could have been fun, but...

Dark Roll growled, and spat mentally. Shut up, you. He isn't here! She was annoyed that the good part had some foothold, but that could be caused by the Ruins. He is... Dark Roll spotted the crossfused Netto and smirked. "Well, well. Little boy blue and the idiot crossfused. Time to kick him while he's down."

Dark Roll made her way towards Netto, not being too stealthy because Netto appeared asleep.

Netto jerked away at the sound of rubble crunching under a boot and he had his buster formed and pointed in the general direction before he was even fully awake. "Don't come any closer!" he snapped, blearily trying to see who it was.

Dark Roll laughed evilly. "Don't make me laugh harder, little man." She stepped nearer to him, smirking. Even now, he was no threat in her eyes, maybe foolishly. "Aren't happy to see an old friend?" She grinned, "Maybe 'friend' is stretching it now."

Netto watched in satisfaction as Dark Roll disappeared. "Oh, don't worry Roll," he said to the empty air. The expression on his face wasn't pleasant at all. "I'll tell her. Meiru would want to know that her Navi is gone... and that I destroyed her."

Not bothering to dismiss the Shotgun chip, Netto turned and headed deeper into the ruins.

Etna was polishing the blade of her spear when she felt Netto head her way. Smirking, she called out without stopping her polishing, "Welcome to the underworld, warrior!" She wasn't dropping her guard, but she was joking.

She assumed the person was a good fighter by his reaching where she was, and fighters were a rare sight this part of the ruins.

Netto paused at being addressed, then continued toward the speaker, emboldened by his victory over Dark Roll. "Who are you?" he asked. He didn't recognize her. She looked to be about twelve years old, but with ears like that, she couldn't be a normal human.

Etna saw the crossfused Netto and bared her fangs in a grin. "The name's Etna, a young succubus. I can wreak havoc anytime, anywhere .. for money, or a meal." She licked her lips meaningfully, but mostly for show. She put her cloth away in an item bag that she had by her, and inspected her spear.

"What brings you to this part of the Ruins, stranger? Most people are scrap by the time I can check them," she said idly, glancing at Netto while a flutter of bat-like wings was heard.
