The flight, Concorde or not, felt long. Everyone on edge.
This was a good team; she could tell they'd already gotten on board
with each other. That might make or break this mission.
She had been on a few cases where she or Mulder or both had to play
negotiator with hired guns, asassins... It hadn't been either of them who'd been
the target in those cases.
Brittany Colefield had handled it impressively well.
Scully listened, read, asked questions, trying to imitate a useful fly on
the wall. She'd be Brittany's backup during the meet with MI5, and the
FBI agent fully intended to make sure that Colefield did not wind
up imprisoned or anything worse.
When the detective asked to speak with her, she simply nodded and moved off
to an area of the jet somewhat away from the other passengers.
