[Dave had been chilling back by the Green Sun and warped onto the plane in time to hear John. Holy fuck, was it? He hasn't ever seen him in person before so this a big deal even if his coolkid attitude didn't react like it was. All that blue there's no way it isn't. That and the unironic love of the Jones.

He slips up behind him, red cloak swirling as he answers him.]

Don't over think it, man. And there's not time rolling through here I'd know, probably Harley's space thing is more like it. Haven't seen her yet thought, sorry.

[Now while John had been hoping to see Dave soon, he definitely wasn't expecting him to be right there. So he jumps a bit at first, startled to hear Dave's voice, but then he turns to look at Dave properly. Woah that sure is sum God Tier there, Dave definitely didn't have that the last time they spoke. Still, somehow Dave manages to make that outfit look rad, even though the hood looks kinda dorky. He's too overjoyed to chuckle at the outfit yet.]

Dave! Wow, this is going to be the day of reunions, isn't it? I thought it might actually take a while to find you and Rose.

[He's not too worried about Jade, because even if she didn't make it to the plane she's right back where he was before he jumped here so yeah.]

[Dave adjusts his shades and lets John check out his new Godtier duds before he continues.]

What do you mean a day of reunions? Far as I knew I was the only one putting around up here getting my time thing on. Are you saying you're not alone? Rose is fine dude, she rose up.

[Yeah he doesn't quite have this plane-stuff sorted out yet, he doesn't really get all the rules and stuff.]

But I'm glad you and Rose are okay, I was really worried about you two! Karkat seemed sure that at least one of you would die for real and not come back.

She's God Tier too! And she has dog ears for some reason, I didn't get a chance to ask why yet. I managed to get the Scratch going, and then she showed up in her giant skyboat and picked me up. Then she shrunk the planets down small enough to carry them and we broke through a giant window-thing. I'm not sure what all of it meant, but I think whatever it was worked?

[Also he has the brochure but he didn't read it yet oops.]

We're just falling down with all these God Tiers. Falling being literal here since the requirement to do it is leaving no forwarding address. [Dave breathes as he processes the information. How had they all hit it like that? It was like the plan was just as much about the other three dying as it was escaping. His poker face gets a fraction sharper as he stuffs his hands onto his pockets.]

It's not too difficult even you could keep up with this. It's a hub for all other worlds, like the Medium housed our worlds - this houses the airport to other realities.

Like some chick wrote this big fanfic orgy of all sorts of people for their own twisted amusement. Get it?

[It's kind of sad to think about, that all of them had to die at least once to get where they are now. But John likes to look at the results, not the proccess, so if everyone is ok then it's ok.]

[He tilts his head slightly to the side, as if gesturing to the whole of the space about them.]

You got it, though instead of gates you just think about going back and forth. You touch someone else and they'll take you into their paddock.

[He's sounding a little excited now, because he has a thought.]

So you could take me back to where you and Rose were before you found a way here?

[Dave nods once, staying where he is.]

[Then he pauses because he sees where John's going with it and yanks his hood back up before reaching for his bro's arm.]

Course I could. Because friendship is fucking magic, and that's all there is to say on that matter.

[And like that, they're before the Green Sun, by Rose and two trolls in front of them.]

[So John just blinks and suddenly oh shit they're there. And for a moment, John is speechless, because there is Rose and she's okay and everything is okay now. Then he flies over and gives her the biggest hug ever because the last time he saw her she was kind of bleeding to death.]

Rose! Oh man, you have no idea how glad I am to see you. Everything went really crazy there for a minute, and then there were monsters and suddenly Jade was a dog and the planets got all small and then-

[But he stops suddenly when he realizes that Rose isn't responding to his hugs and rambling. He pulls back far enough to look at Rose, and he sees that she hasn't moved at all. Then he looks back to Dave with a look somewhere between confusion and soul-crushing sadness.]

Why isn't she moving? I didn't break everything, did I?

[He forgot to mention that. Dave floats in space, pointing to Sollux and Aradia.] No. They've all been frozen like that since I went to the Stellar port, and come back. It never changes, so I take a lot of naps.

[And tend not to move much but he takes his victories where he can get them from. The Godtier of Time flips upside so he can pat John's shoulder from above.] Things are fine, ok?

[John looks back to Rose, wishing he could hear her speak again, if only to say "I'm here and everything's okay." But she doesn't move, and Dave's words confirm that she'll be frozen for some time, so he finally lets go of her.

When Dave touches his shoulder, he looks up at the flip-turned hero and smiles.]

Yeah, it's okay. She'll join the rest of us soon enough.

[And he honestly believes that, too.]

[Dave offered his fist for a bunp, one eyebrow raised. Come on, give this upside down bro his due.]
