[Mu stoops and collects his pet, looking at River while he does so.]

Méi guānxi. [River makes beam-y faces at the dragon, though her unicorn lets out a snort of surprise and hides behind her leg.] They'll have friends.

Chenreizeg can be a little bit forceful in his curiosity. [Case in point, the dragon is squirming out of Mu's grip to sniff and huff at the unicorn]

Red sky at night. [River offers a hand to the dragon politely.]

That's quite the pet you have there, River.

It's a unicorn.

[And it trots over to Inara to nose around her feet. RIVER IS IN HEAVEN.]

Not yet. We'll need a consultation.

[River makes beam-y faces at Gwen while her as yet unnamed unicorn trots over to Gwen to poke about.]

It's brilliant. Where did you find it?

IT'S MY UNICORN IN A BOX!

It hatched. From a present. [Otherwise known as a pretty egg. The unicorn trots between the two of them a couple times and then settles between them, pawing the ground.]

[Jamie is staring at the unicorn with a rather disbelieving expression on his face. That can't possibly be a unicorn. They don't exist. He has established this quite firmly. So why is there a wee bitty one running around on the Plane?]

Och, am I dreaming again?

It's mine. [River makes a face like :DDDDDD and pets the unicorn on the neck, very reverently.]

So it is. Well, it'll make a fine protector for ye when it grows up. Er, if it grows up.

[He rubs at the back of his head, looking quite bemused.]

Where did ye find it?

It hatched from an egg. [And it is bumping into your leg lightly!]

[ Break watches the girl and her pet for a moment before approaching them slowly and quietly, giving her a pleasant and friendly smile. ]

My, it has quite a bit of energy, doesn't it?

He's new and exploring. It's all shiny and exciting.

I imagine so! So new to the world, everything must be quite interesting.
