[In the Plane's kitchen, something is cooking! Ahahaha, you see that pun there? - Anyway, it's not cooking yet, actually. There are pots and pans and cutting boards and bowls and well anything else you need for cooking antics. Haruhi is still in school uniform, though she's taken off her jacket in favour of an apron. Her dress shirt and tie remain. A matching bandanna keeps her hair up.
Also, she looks apathetic as always.] I don't see why we have to cook in front of everyone...
[But with a sigh she straightens up.] Ah, you can take a cookbook from over there. [She points with her ladle at a large stack of cookbooks at the end of the counter.]
[Kaoru, having already admired Haruhi in her cute outfit, is flipping through one of the cookbooks, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows when he raises his hand] Question, teacher! Are we really going to find what we want here?
[pauses a moment, then turns the cookbook upside down, looking slightly confused.]
[Kyouya, the only Host still in the school blazer instead of an apron, is casually leaning on one of the counters, watching the others as he flips through a cookbook.] As long as you don't try to add ingredients from other planets, you likely won't stray any further from the right food than you already would.
[Tamaki is wearing the crown the Host Club just won during the Ouran Festival. He's also wearing an apron adorned with images of Kuma-chan. He had arrived early, so he had all ready looked through most of the cookbooks, so now he's looking around the kitchen behind Haruhi. Every now and then he'll secretly glance at Haruhi to admire how cute she looks before looking around the kitchen some more.]
[And thus, Tamaki is looking around in the fridge but stops and turns around as he listens to the other Hosts. He points a finger at Kaoru] Don't bother Haruhi-sensei with frivolous questions! [and then he points in Kyouya's direction] And don't be so close minded about trying new things. Something from another planet will be a new experience!
[Haruhi shrugs.] Just don't pick out anything weird. It might be poisonous. [She goes to the fridge and opens it. ...Cake. ...No. She closes it and opens it again. Vegetables. Better. She scoops some into a bowl and sets it down on the table.] Here. You guys at least know these, right? You can start cutting them up. [She goes around getting a pot for broth.]
[Kaoru pouts at Kyouya and Tamaki; mutters:] I wasn't going to, geez. [he lets out a beleaguered sigh, then starts picking through the vegetables]
Haruhi! [he holds up a daikon radish and a bamboo shoot, an innocent grin on his face. after all, when has he ever had to do any of this for himself?] How do you cut these?
A new experience won't win you the competition. [Kyouya obviously doesn't bother with the vegetables. Meritless work is so much effort.]
A new experience could win any competition, Kyouya!
[but Tamaki's distracted by the new chore Haruhi has assigned so he moves to stand beside Kaoru. He's looking the vegetables over as well] There are special samurai techniques for this kind of thing. I've seen it on television!
Oh~hohohohohoho~!
{The swelling of large, dramatic music is met with the swelling of a platform rotating from the Plane}
The kind of ambition that compels the plots of shonen sports manga will not be helpful here, Tamaki-senpai! This is a case of--{A dramatic pause, before pointing to all of them}
Cooking manga! You must make the best dish possible from your old experiences, as Kyouya-sama has said!! So, please, make a seven-layer chocolate torte and test your skills! Petals made of chocolate are optional! And samurai techniques are absolutely useless in this case, so please do not take that advice.
((ooc: You know the way this goes! Threadhopping and tagging all over and everyone has colours because the Host Club is a fabulous rainbow, except for Haruhi who is normal. The order was: Haruhi, Kaoru, Kyouya, Tamaki and the lovely Renge at the end.))
