[and suddenly she's all business] Great. Do you know how long they've had access to this place? [wry murmur] I really don't like the idea of Scarecrow especially having unlimited time.
{And in a rather surprising contrast to the Booster Barbara knows, Booster is all business too. Well, as much as he can be.} Longer than me, and I was the first one to show up. Scarecrow has already been a problem, set off an angry teenager into...Well, I don't think he killed anyone here, but he came here packing a pretty worrying amount of blood. And wolves. The worlds here are weird.
He's also connected to a woman that calls herself "Diva," who ended up in Arkham, too. She's a vampire, apparently. But yeah, that's why we're trying to keep track of the Plane. The idea of people from other worlds merging with ours? Not exactly keen on the idea, especially if it's someone like Diva who just goes on murdering sprees.
[it is a surprise, but a welcome one, and she doesn't waste time being shocked] The best way to head off that sort of thing is to make sure no one trusts him. It's harder to manipulate people if they know you're going to do it.
[then a pause] Merging? I haven't heard of that, yet.
That's what we've been trying to do. I gave a...uhh, brief, sort of, on the inmates that are able to come here. It wasn't exactly a big audience, so Power Girl and I have been telling who we meet.
But I don't know a whole lot about merging. The gist of it seems to be that if you make friends here, your worlds start to come together.
[nods] It's a good start. Our biggest problem is that people arrive here at random, so there's always a chance he can get to them first. Second biggest is we don't know how big the population is, so we'll have no idea how far we've gotten.
[this is her '...how does that even work' expression] That...must be a strange experience.
Doing my best. I got a datapad from a guy that had been here longer when he was...uhh, expecting to die, basically. He didn't, but he wanted me to keep it. It's got a lot of good information, but it's not up to date. I don't really have the time to keep it up to date, obviously.
...Wouldn't know! Haven't got one, which is probably better, all things considered.
If you lend me that datapad, I can download the information, or copy it if I have to, and upload it to something all of us can alter. We can collect data whenever we're here, and update the database regularly.
Sounds like something more up your alley anyways. I'll be right back.
{And he drops from the Plane, coming back with it. And it's only then that he notices what she'd been writing. It's the same feeling as when he met Ralph--meeting people before shit goes down in not good for his morale.}
--Yeah, here you go. It shouldn't be a problem. But...No Man's Land, huh?
[she nods, and gives him an earnest smile when he returns - shiny tech with information!] Thanks. [which promptly fades as she glances down] Yeah. I'm guessing this was one for the history books.
[also, the mun is now trying to remember who knew what when]
Woah, wait a sec, Barbara? No way, when did you get here?
