[look who it is! It's a Doctor! Where has this Doctor been? You'll never get him to tell you.]

[presently, the Doctor is looking over several pages of parchment written in florescent ink. All of the paper around him glows as if a lightbulb was behind it. If asked, he might even tell you what he's up to!]

[...weird. You have one very curious gradeschooler peering at your notes, Doctor.]

[peers over his glasses]

Hello.

[Sorry Doctor, he's a researcher at heart.] What is that? It doesn't look like a projection.

It's Norotria Florescent ink. Writes with the energy put behind the words. I'm testing to see the levels of energy output on the Plane versus in my reality.

[offers him a quill] Want to try?

[He takes it a little uncertainly. Writing by hand is almost a lost art at this point, at least in his reality.] How does it work?

You put the nib on the paper and write with it.

Then the energy output you give to certain words gives them more light content.

[._. That's... sort of intimidating, actually. So huzzah, Haraken the fail!child scratches out the word 'hello'.]

[and the words light up with all of his nervous energy]

There you go, see? Piece of cake.

Interesting, the light field is different when you write it.

[And that has him switching his glasses on and calling up a floating display screen to search of spectrometer programs to take readings of the text.] Do you know why?

Psychic energy. It's in the plant material in the ink.

[grins at the programs]

[O_O] Psychic... plants? I didn't know plants could be psychic.

[Well, he didn't know ANYTHING could be psychic, really, before the plane. :| ]

Well, a good deal of things can be psychic.

The planet Dios? Rocks that are sentient! Rocks!

[ZOMG THAT IS SO COOL. You actually coaxed a smile out of him, Doctor!]

Of course, being rocks they don't have too much to say except 'I beg your pardon, do you mind not stepping on me?', which is awfully polite but not really all that interesting.

[Psychic plants and sentient rocks... Maybe--] ...have you ever met dead people?

[thinks back]

Once or twice. Why?
