[When Owen arrives on the Plane, he seems to have been mid-coffee, bunch of papers - medical printoffs or something - in hand. Understandably, he nearly chokes on the coffee, looking around.]

Fuck -- what now? Tosh? Ianto! Gwen, Jack! Bit of a problem... [annoyed and somewhat panicked sigh] Hello?

[Eventually he stops pacing around, finding no ( Read more... )

You don't have to worry, it's not really space. Honestly, since when did space ever have a floor?

[She rolls her eyes, as if this should be obvious.]

It's called "The Plane"-- real descriptive, I know. Some kind of cross-dimensional space that's apparently inside a machine. Nobody really knows much about it, but I'm sure there's folks that know much more about it than me.

There's some dangerous people around, but for the most part, everybody here's friendly as pie. So I'd relax, if I were you, before you worked yourself up into a fit. I'm Dorothy, what's your name?

... Right, of course.

[Watch as the Owen tries to gain back his groove] Owen. Doctor Owen Harper.

Goodness, more doctors. Just poppin' out of the woodwork, these days. Wonder if that's a sign of something.

Well, it's certainly nice to meet you, Dr. Harper. And don't worry about leaving, you can get out whenever you want, you just sort of... step out. You'll figure it out soon, I'm sure. Doctors tend to be intelligent people, in my extensive experience.

No exception here. [shifts the papers a bit] So what's the point of a place like this, anyway, Dorothy?

[raising an eyebrow] Does there need to be a point?

[chuckling, she jams her hands in her back pockets and looks around] Really, though, nobody's exactly sure why it's here, from what I understand. A bunch of the Doctors are tryin' to figure it out, I think, but I'm not so worried about a "why" so much as just enjoyin' it as best I can. [she shrugs] I'm an explorer-- it's just what I do.

Some sort of reason for me bein' swiped up by some ambiguous space-machine might make it a little less disturbing, yeah.

So what's there to enjoy 'round here?

Something I've learned over the years, Dr. Harper-- most of the time in life, things don't need reasons to happen. They just do.

Well, I really like meeting all the people. Some people are aliens or vampires or from lots of different places in time-- it's real neat, you wouldn't believe how much you can learn from 'em. Or if that's not your thing, there's always the open bar.

One way to look at it. And call me Owen, yeah?

Aliens? Really? [the sarcasm is quite evident] Well. Maybe I should stick around. [he looks into his coffee mug, swirling the little that's left] I could do with a pint, too, I think.

Whatever you say. I find it's usually best to follow the doctor's orders.

Bar's that way-- [she points off in its direction] You might have to pull it yourself, though. Don't think there's a designated bartender or anything. Wish I'd've known you were coming, I'd've brought pie!
