To whomever has the blessed Charlotte in their reality:

Please feel free to keep her. I much prefer the gentleman who has replaced her here on this world. He finds me fascinating and desires nothing more than to learn about me and dote on me. As such, I would rather keep him than have Miss Pollard back. The Doctor will agree in time, I'm sure.

Huh. That's a bit disturbed.

Why do you say that?

Because that's how it sounds, actually.

Basically: "Who gives a crap bout her, I'll keep him." Only with a multiple reality based game of lost and found involved.

Should I have spoken differently? I do not care for the girl. I was simply expressing a truth.

Truth is a funny thing. Lot's of people prefer it to be sugar coated. Some would rather never hear it. But there are only a precious few that like it so...blunt.

So would you prefer me to lie? That seems counterproductive to me. Why should the truth not be told?

Never said that. Lying just creates problems, anyways.

Was only suggesting your dress up the truth. Make it look nice and respectable. Easy to accept. Then, even if the truth is a bad thing, you'll likely get your way in the end.

How does one go about dressing a concept? I do not understand.

It's just a figure of speech.

Basically, just make the truth sound attractive. Take what's blunt and make it smooth.

What a frightfully pointless endeavour. I need never do that with the Doctor.

[A simple shrug]

Just a suggestion. A clever tongue is an invaluable tool.

I find I have many more tools at my disposal. Speaking is something I've only recently acquired.

[And that has kind of confused him, so have a bit of a blank stare]

Alright then.

Exactly how does that work?

[blinks and tilts her head] How do you mean?

You said you "recently acquired" the ability to speak.

There are a few possible explanations for that, but quite frankly...I'm not up for playing twenty questions right now.

Well, I have always spoken, I've just never used your human language. Nor any spoken word, truly, until recently, when I was infected by anti-time and so became Zagreus. That is the reason I can take these forms.
