[A white wolf comes trotting onto the Plane, grass and flowers sprouting everywhere she steps, though they quickly dissolve back into nothing. She comes to a stop and looks around once before sitting down.]

Not the Celestial Plain, certainly. [Brow wrinkles in a wolfish frown.] And no trick of Waka's, either. This sort of thing is beyond him.

[Wary Ianto is wary, but he's already found from Cy he's too quick to judge so he doesn't reach for his gun (even if it is tempting).] It's the Astral Plane, apparently.

[She trots up to him, tongue lolling in a wolf grin, and leaving a trail of flowers and grass behind her.] The Astral Plane, then! I thank you, young one. Do you know why this place is here, by any chance?

[damnfinecoffee]

[He tenses slightly, glancing curiously at the trail of flowers but making sure he doesn't take his eyes off her.] No... I've only been coming here for a few days. I don't really know a lot about it.

[shinypaws]

[She sits down nearby, not wanting to startle him.] Don't be afraid--I have no intention of harming you.

A few days? That would imply that this place has been around for longer than that. Do you perhaps know how long this place has existed?

I never said you did. It's just... wolves are dangerous where I'm from. Dogs in general are, really.

I don't, but I was told people started coming here around five months ago.

[shinypaws]

[She nods.] Understandable, then. [Teasingly,] Perhaps I am not truly a wolf, though~

Five months? Hm. Not as long as I expected, considering this place. I've been told that the people here are all from different worlds. Is the same true for you, ah...I'm afraid I never caught your name.

[damnfinecoffee]

[A slight eyebrow raise, but considering she can talk that doesn't really surprise him.] Alien?

Most likely. I've been told that the point in time I'm from doesn't exist anymore, so it'd make sense if it was a different world.

It's Ianto. Ianto Jones. I don't think I caught yours either?

[shinypaws]

[She giggles.] To you, maybe I am. But I suppose the term is relative, isn't it?

Ah...different worlds, different times, different timelines even. Fascinating.

[She dips her head once.] It is a pleasure to meet you, Ianto Jones. I am Amaterasu.

I suppose I'd be an alien to you?

'Strange' was the first word that came to my mind, but it is pretty fascinating once you've started to get used to it.

[He nods his own head, before holding out his hand after a few moments of contemplation.] A pleasure to meet you also, Amaterasu.

Hm! Well, the only alien I have encountered left Nippon aboard a bamboo rocket, so I'm afraid I'm not really an expert. You smell like a human, though, so you are not entirely unfamiliar.

[She grins and walks forward, snuffling at his hand.] Strange things are usually also fascinating, I've found!

[Raises an eyebrow] Bamboo rocket? Can't say I've ever encountered a species like that before. I am human, so that'd probably explain the smell.

[He tentatively moves his hand to pet behind her ears.] They usually are, yes.

[shinypaws]

I hadn't either! She was quite human in appearance, though she smelled perhaps a bit too strongly of bamboo. And so you are! Then not an alien, I think~

Yes... different species do tend to smell a bit different. I expect you'd find that more noticeable than me.

So am I, what?

[shinypaws]

Hm, though a human from a very different time and place, I believe--[giggling,] particularly considering you don't seem to recognize my name!

Early 21st century Earth. Should I recognize it?

[shinypaws]

[She laughs.] Most people recognize the name of the sun goddess. But! You'd have no reason to recognize it if you weren't from my world, would you?
