Good question.
Many people believe that life is calculated and controlled rather than random.
They use this belief to justify their job, relationship, pet, friendship, moving choices.
I can understand why.
Who wants to believe that there is no specific order to anything that we do?
Who wants to believe that we're not destined to meet one person rather than another?
Who wants to believe that there is no higher power watching out for us?
Noone.
I won't lie.
It aggravates me.
Noone wants to accept responsibility for their actions.
Rather, they would sit and believe that someone or something else is controlling their lives and "guiding" them where they are supposed to be.
I honestly can't fucking tell ya if I agree but everytime someone says "everything happens for a reason," I get a bitter taste in my mouth.
Then I want to smirk and say "What happens if you're wrong?"
But do I? Nope.
Anyhow, despite my ranting, I'm doing well.
I'm back from what was a much needed "vacation" to New York, if you want to call it that.
Dad and I had a lot of bonding time together and while we had many many experiences that I would love to share..
the only one that's worth mentioning is both ironic and innaprropriate.
Well, I landed Wednesday night at MacArthur Airport. It's a little shit airport on Long Island which services maybe three airlines.
The dull pain in my lower back from cramps kept the flipping motion of my stomach at bay while I was on the flight.
Thank god for this.
I am turning into such a pussy when it comes to flying, it's un-fucking-believable.
On Thursday Dad, Madelaine and I spent the day doing our seperate things and then on Friday, we did a little trip.
It was a long day but it was worth it.
We bought a couple of bouquets and visited various grandparents, great uncles etc.
The woman at the flower shop was even nice enough to give us some water for the flowers.
She handed dad a huge Smirnoff bottle filled with water.
I had to laugh.
We visited Uncle Ray as well that day, and if I might add here:
Uncle Ray was a HUGE fan of Easter screwdrivers.
The three of us had a good laugh at that.
The rest of the trip had it's ups and downs and then on Monday night, I flew back.
Tuesday I worked.
Yesterday, Mom and I went on an adventure.
This is as good a place as any to mention it but honestly? I can't stand apartment searching.
I know.
This is just like my mother who would bitch bitch bitch all the way through cooking Christmas dinner for the whole family but would never opt to go out to eat instead.
I like the control of picking the apartment but the work? Man.
Yesterday, we drove around looking for a couple duplexes I had found off craigslist....
