[Part of her is hoping that all of Lilly's things are just stashed away in some corner and that the woman herself will pop up again the next day, but it's about time to admit that Lilly would never go through that kind of manual labor for no reason. Marica probably shouldn't be getting used to her friends leaving like this, but she's become quicker ( Read more... )

[First Yuber, and now Lilly. Hm. It was a bit curious that their disappearances were relatively close together.]

Thank you for the announcement.

Oh, you're welcome. [So polite.]

[... Oh, wait.] You're Albert, right? Albert Silverberg?

Yes, that's right. [...] You have been on the drafts before, correct?

Yep. I've talked to Caesar, too, but I didn't know you two were related until I saw his full name on the draft listing. I can kinda see the resemblance now.

I see. Well, I hope that minor mystery is put to rest. [Of course, it could be avoided if Caesar would simply use his surname, but hey. Complexes.]

I don't know if you'd call it a mystery when it was solved the moment it began. [It might've been a mystery when she first arrived, because hey what are surnames, but she's since been educated.]

I'm impressed that you're both strategists, though. Is it a family thing?

Yes, it is -- a tradition, you could say. [Virtually all of the Silverbergs dealt with war tactics in some way.

...Hm.] Marica, was it?

Observations. Notes from the draft. [And the ability to remember names and faces from the journal network.] A pleasure, though I'm sorry we trade words only after Miss Pendragon's disappearance.

[His memory must really be something...] Better late than never. Besides, Lilly's probably enjoying herself a lot more at home than here.

True. She did seem to have trouble transitioning into Luceti. [Or perhaps it was simply the combined presence of himself and Yuber that made her so uncomfortable.]

[And don't forget Caesar!] It must be a shock to go from a noble house with tons of maids to a crazy village like this. I can't say I really blame her.

I suppose so. It's not everyone who can travel the countryside accompanied by servants.

That sure sounds nice... [She's only seen that kind of treatment on the road around Salsabil's royal family.]

Is Lilly's family really that powerful?

[There is a thoughtful pause on his end.] She did not tell you about her family? [That would be ... surprising.]

[That pause makes her feel nervous for some reason.] She told me that her father is a "president", but honestly, I'd never heard of one until then. Does that make her some kind of... princess?
