I predict that the price of oil will fall while we see $4+/gallon at the pump to to Obama taxing the hell out of it to make people be more eoco-aware. I further predict that until the mob that voted Obama into office kicks him out, we will have no relief at the pump while he's in office.

P.S. Though it's on a different blogging network, I think you might be interested in this post and the resulting fallout. I'm Professor Tom. It shouldn't be too hard to spot the majority of my comments there; I have a unique avatar, not unlike the one I used here.

I actually started out on Xanga before moving to LJ.

Why did you change networks? Have you considered cross-posting?

LJ had a more open system where you could tinker with not just the appearance of your blog but also change the source code itself. Plus LJ has better friends/communities arrangements. IIRC at the time Xanga was just getting started with their version of a community and their method checking "subscribed" blogs isn't as elegant as LJ's.

I could probably use a posting client to include Xanga in post distribution (they already go to Multiply and Facebook and by various RSS methods, etc.) but I really don't have time to monitor comments in that many systems.

Tell me more about clients that cross-post LJ and Facebook.

There are actually two methods. I think both are Facebook "apps" but differ in how they present the data. One as an RSS feed and one as if you made individual posts, IIRC. "LiveJournal Connect" is probably the one you'd want to use.

Turns out you can import an RSS feed. I was going to direct people to my LJ, but there people who would care to read my site are old Xanga people. Maybe I can get them to read my blogs and then come to Xanga and comment. I know this will work if I stick cut tags in. Also, If you look at my Xanga, you'll see why I want to drive traffic there.
