The left is still at it: inventing ways to hate President Bush even as he moves to exit the White House.
The latest wave of nauseating nonsense is that the President is moving to a "whites only" neighborhood.
Um, no.
Racially restrictive covenants have been illegal since the Civil Rights Act of 1866, though it took a 1968 Supreme Court ruling (
Jones v. Mayer) to stop people from futzing with the meaning of "illegal" and whether it applied to "private" contracts.
The covenants remain in many properties (including those of the Kennedy and Biden family, until they were exposed) because it takes a formal legal process to remove them and also because they are legally unenforceable.
Apparently the neighborhood association got around to formally removing the language in a 2000 update of the covenants, but as mentioned they have been illegal since 1866 and unenforceable since 1968.
And President Bush had absolutely nothing to do with them.
But that won't stop the left from slobbering all over themselves as they spin yet another racist myth about President Bush.
