More "shocking" news: even more Democrats involved in the Countrywide/IndyMac financial scandals.
Countrywide Financial Corp., the biggest U.S. mortgage lender, made large, previously undisclosed home loans to two additional executives of Fannie Mae, the government-chartered firm at the center of the U.S. credit crisis ( Read more... )

Hiring someone whose company was paid by Fannie Mae to perform a service isn't "involved in a scandal".

Hope this helped!

If it did, it would make every Democrat a criminal suspect.

Hiring a group that gives you money to your own campaign is a service.

Certaintly, at least, a service to McCain.

Anyhow, I don't really want to start a rollin' fight (especially considering it was I who crashed your journal), I just thought that your headlines deserved a bit of a good turn is all.

It's good to see people involved in the process of politics, no matter what side of the fence they are on.

How is someone heading a company for a few years prior to his employ with McCain a service to McCain?

Is your past employer endorsing your current one? That's an interesting stance to take.

John McCain’s campaign manager Rick Davis received regular payments from the failed mortgage company Freddie Mac from the year 2000 up until August 2008,

Granted, it's been roughly a month since August, and it may be the reason that why Fannie Mae is a "former employee" is because it went *bankrupt*, but still, I'd hardly call that far enough into the past....

That is factually incorrect, as noted even in that article. Really, if you believe everything that is printed in the NY Times you'll spend a lot of your life being wrong.

Try again. :)

I've left my reading glasses somewhere, perhaps I'm just not seeing where it states in that article that it was incorrect.

And while I don't believe everything *just* in the NY Times (surely you watch alot of Fox News and are a regular enthusiast of the Bill O'Reilly Show?), I do believe what several articles from several major publications say, and they back up the fact that McCain also had, as I said earlier, "his hand in the Fannie Mae" jar.

All being said and done, it was nice talking to you and I hope I didn't get too rude. I've been known to do that on occassion - something I'm working on. (that and my spelling, but first things first, I suppose!)

Despite being on the oppisite side of the fence, it really was the fact that I simply don't see many conservatives on Livejournal that caught my attention towards your blog.

Thanks!

The facts: He ran a company, he was not a lobbyist. He has not run that company since 2005.

Hope this helps! And as for the "fannie mae cookie jar", I hope you enjoy this:
