A dark cloud gathers over Congress

Jun 28, 2007 23:18

In the dark corridors of power Senators are seen muttering in dismay about the mere mortals who do not reside in Congress:

"Who do those people think we work for?!"

Newsflash, Senators, you work for us. And we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any longer.

Someone (Mark Steyn I think) said that the Senators are showing bi-partisanship and now both sides are working together against the American people.

I have a slightly different take on this immigration mess than you do, but I have said all along that the whole process of back room secrecy and railroading really stinks.

There is a lot of old-fashioned back room dealing going on, that is for sure.

Are we still going to revive the Whig Party? Because I was so into doing that. I had everything figured out. I suppose I still could. It would be a fun diversion. Trent Lott isn't invited.

That would be ironic. The Republican Party was born because the Whigs wouldn't do anything about slavery. I think the name would have to be changed, though. Perhaps they could revive "Bull Moose".

TR's Progressive Party. Perhaps "Bull Moose Whigs" as the official name. There's the option of "Radio Republicans." ^_^ I'd love to see the reaction to that one. It could be "Radio Party" officially on the ballot.

Ya know, the Trent Lott thing ...

... I defended him at the time, but flat-out attacking free speech is basically like disowning me.

Therefore, next time someone accuses the Republican party of racism, I'm going to hold up the ousting of Trent Lott as a shining example of how we rightfully get rid of racists in our party, whereas they've still got a former klan guy in the Senate.

(might as well use Lott for SOMETHING good.)

At least one of those S.O.B.s actually said that, eh? Well, I suppose they can find new employers the next time they come up for re-election.

Bastards.
