Now this is just sad

Joe Lieberman, having established a lead in the polls as an independent candidate for the Senate in Connecticut, tries to give Republicans a reason not to vote for him:
WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Joe Lieberman, attacked by fellow Democrats as being too close to the White House on the Iraq War, on Sunday called on Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign but said the United States cannot "walk away" from the Iraqis.

This is a lose-lose strategy for Lieberman. The rabid left has already demonstrated that it is not going to vote for him. All he can do with this kind of silly statement/position is give Republicans a reason not to vote for him.

(And when will Democrats learn that they cannot fire or force people to resign who do not work for them?)

Dear Joe: stop giving people a reason to vote against you and start giving the reasons to vote for you. I'd rather have an independent Lieberman than a Democrat Lamont. Heck, I'd even welcome you into the Republican Party if you'd drop the moonbat positions!
