We have always been at war with Oceania

That some Republicans are switching parties isn't really a surprise. The MSM, however, would like you to think that it is evidence that their alternate reality of an elitist Republican Party is true.
When Moore bolted the GOP four years ago to become Sebelius' running mate, Parkinson called his selection a "gimmick." Now he says what the Democratic Party has to offer is no joke.

Republicans have branded Parkinson a traitor, but he told me he didn't break with the GOP, it broke with him. It became more interested in cultural warfare than improving schools, economic development "for everyone" and the idea that government should not be involved in people's personal lives.

"What's happened in Kansas, and what's attracted me and excited me about serving on this ticket is that the person that's captured (the political middle) of Kansas is Gov. Sebelius," Parkinson said.

That last sentence says it all. Political opportunists will jump ship when they think they sense a change in the wind.

The MSM has largely silent about the thousands of elected officials who have changed parties to the Republican Party since 1980. Unelected Republicans switching parties, however, is apparently evidence that their conspiracy theory is true.

If that is the case, wouldn't that make the Democrats the party of evil in the 1980s and 1990s?

Republicans do face an issue with defections. The problem isn't with ideology, as the MSM would have you believe, rather it is one of leadership. As long as the Party remains rudderless people will continue to jump ship.
