Shoot to kill: not just for Americans any more

Jul 23, 2005 15:29

Many people, especially Europeans, have been critical of American policies such as the death penalty and shoot-to-kill policies.

The United Kingdom, however, has learned the hard way that there are simply some people you cannot reason with:
"If you are dealing with someone who might be a suicide bomber, if they remain conscious, they could trigger plastic explosives or whatever device is on them," Mayor Ken Livingstone. "Therefore, overwhelmingly in these circumstances, it is going to be a shoot-to-kill policy."

In the article people are quoted as saying the man involved had no connection with the bombings, but I find that hard to believe.

He was dressed like a homicide bomber and reacted like one. Whether he was on a "live" mission or just a "training run" I think it will come to light eventually that he was connected to the group(s) dedicated to killing innocent civilians.

Hopefully it will be a long time before anyone in Europe assumes a self-righteous air and condemns the "barbaric" policies of the United States.

The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist.

london, war on terrorism
