The reason: their union-created health insurance company plans cost more than public health insurance plans, so they've blocked attempts to switch and save money.

These aren't just "generous" and "liberal" plans. They're plans that are chosen -- sometimes over cheaper yet better plans -- precisely BECAUSE the plans are ways to "keep it all in the Union Goon family." It's outright corruption because the local union is getting less value for its members' money.

There is a grand old American custom that needs to be revived about now: the local neighborhood tar-and-feather party. In this case, "local" should be expanded to cover that entire state. It's about time the damned Left and the public unions need to rediscover the reality principle -- the hard way.
