Government shutdowns: brought to you by the Democrats
Having failed miserably at producing budgets (let alone responsible budgets) the Democrats are going to double-down and refuse to agree to trifling spending cuts proposed by the Republicans and force a government shutdown as a result.
While Republicans debate what level of trifling cuts to make in an obscene budget the Democrats have, like they did with the housing problems ten years ago, simply refused to admit that there are problems and that anything needs to be done about it.
So they'll shut down the government rather than agree to even the smallest cuts in spending and then try to claim it is the "fault" of Republicans and/or the Tea Party.
Republicans lost the spin battle over the last government shutdown, despite having the winning hand and getting the Clinton administration to agree to spending cuts. That was largely the fault of Newt Gingrich.
Were you paying attention then, John Boehner? It's your turn at bat against the liberal spin machine. Stay on target!
