Kermit B. Gosnell: mass murderer

Jan 22, 2011 16:59

You've heard a lot about Jared Lee Loughner. In part because liberals want you to believe he acted in response to conservative "rhetoric".

You probably haven't heard a lot about Kermit B. Gosnell. In part because Gosnell, a liberal, provided what he claimed were abortions. In reality Gosnell delivered live babies and then executed them.

Hundreds of them. The murders were gruesome. Sometimes the mothers died, too.

Someone should have done something, right? Well, it's not like the house of horrors was a Wal Mart selling guns and ammunition. The state health department saw no reason to inspect it, or any other abortion facility. (This might be seen as an attempt to restrict a woman's right to an abortion, and that's simply out of the question.) This was a conscious decision, made in 1993 after repeated inspections found numerous health and safety violations.

Liberals faced a dilemma: either admit that someone providing abortion services was doing something wrong or adhere to the liberal policy that anything that results in fewer abortions is in reality an assault on the rights of women.
"State health officials knew that Gosnell and his clinic were offering unacceptable medical care to women and girls, yet (the Department of Health) failed to take any action to stop the atrocities," the grand jury report says.

...
The report also targets the Department of State and the state Board of Medicine, which oversee medical licenses. Attorneys for the department disregarded notices that numerous Gosnell patients were hospitalized for infections, with fetal remains inside them and with perforated uteruses, cervixes, and bowels, the report states.

...
A health department lawyer testified about a 1999 meeting of high-level state officials "at which a decision was made not to accept a recommendation to reinstitute regular inspections of abortion clinics," citing a concern that routine inspections would lead to "less abortion facilities, less access to women to have an abortion."

It's revealing how liberals kept Loughner in the front of the news cycle when they were trying to portray him as a crazed, right-wing extremist (or at least influenced by them) yet you have to search to find news about one of the worst mass-murderers in US history.

Kermit B. Gosnell is his name.

Update: In 1996 New York censured and fined Gosnell but did not revoke his license to practice medicine. (This action was taken because Pennsylvania also fined and censured Gosnell but allowed him to continue to practice "medicine".) These actions were a result of an infraction that occurred in 1990.
