Since it's the new year

I thought I would pass along some good advice and bad advice that I've encountered for those needing some resolutions.

Amusingly, the bad advice, which is apparently geared towards countering the evil of lower taxes (!) doesn't tell people to voluntarily pay a higher tax rate or send in money to reduce the government debt. Instead, it tells people to donate their "tax cut" to charity.

Donations are nice, of course, but why is a group that is dedicated to fighting the "evils" of tax cuts helping people lower their taxes? Do they even understand the purpose of their group?

For all those who are suffering from the guilt of being taxed at rates established during the Bush administration you can assuage that guilt by sending a check to the Treasury Department.

Those millionaires who went on TV during the past year to claim they wanted to pay more taxes have apparently been having trouble finding that website because the amounts that have been donated are pretty small.

I mean, all those millionaires can't be hypocrites, can they?
