Obama admits that Sarah Palin, John McCain and George Bush were right about offshore drilling

Of course, being Obama, he managed to do it in a way that he can claim to be "doing something" while also managing not to do anything at all. (Similar to the way that Clinton was "doing something" about Social Security by not doing anything at all.) While the topic was offshore drilling near Virginia what was left unsaid was that Obama was not going to open up more of Alaska (which is ready to produce more oil in the short term).

Obama will talk about studies and proposals and so forth without actually drilling for one drop of oil. He can then lie to the American public when the complaints about high gas prices come (remember when gas prices were down to $1.74 when Bush left office?) and also tell his liberal cohorts who hate the idea of fossil fuels and American energy independence that they don't have to worry because not a single rig will ever be deployed while he is in office.

Just more of the same "yes, Bush was right but we're going to claim to be doing things differently" bullshit from the Obama administration.

The fact remains that Bush and the Republicans were right about offshore drilling and expanded production in Alaska and if the Democrats had not blocked them we would be well on our way to producing more oil and gas and seeing lower energy prices as a result.
