Subsidizing failure: school lunches and meat production

John Stossel gives a good overview of why it's cheaper to serve hamburgers than salads in schools. And, of course, the government solution is not to end subsides for meat production but to subsidize the purchase of fruits and vegetables by schools.

I can't wait for this kind of thinking to drive medical costs through the roof.
