More proof that the Democrats want you to pay for illegal alien medical treatment
No one should have mistaken Obama's use of the word "insurance" for anything other than it was when he stated that illegal aliens would not be able to buy insurance through Obamacare: a lie of omission. Illegal aliens aren't going to buy insurance no matter what! They know that all they have to do is show up at a hospital and their medical care is "free" to them. Not only would that not change under Obamacare but since "everyone" would be required to buy "insurance" (except for illegal aliens and rich Democrats in positions of power) "everyone" would end up paying for their care.
Senate Democrats all but said that out loud when they defeated a measure that would have required non-citizens to show a valid picture ID when requesting medical services.Senate Finance Committee Democrats rejected a proposed a requirement that immigrants prove their identity with photo identification when signing up for federal healthcare programs.
Finance Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said that current law and the healthcare bill under consideration are too lax and leave the door open to illegal immigrants defrauding the government using false or stolen identities to obtain benefits.
Grassley's amendment was beaten back 10-13 on a party-line vote.
But hey, we can trust people who are already breaking the law to be honest about who they are and their intent to pay back bills when they show up at hospitals, right? Hmmm, how about we levy a tax on Democrats to reimburse hospitals for all the bad debt they have to eat because of people lying about who they are?
Remember: bad medical debt will be just as deadly to the medical field as the subprime loans that liberals pushed were in the housing market!
