So the end of the world has been predicted so many times, but then, all those predictions only happened in the last 4,000 or so years (I'm guessing generously, 'cause I'm sure some of them were BC) but we've got 38 million or something years of history. Well I can't look it up 'cause, beer. But seriously! Even 38 thousand is a lot more than 4 thousand. The roleplayer in me wanted to abbreviate thousand to "k", and I just wanted you to know that.

So the end of the world has been predicted so many times, but then, all those predictions only hapened in the last 4k or so years, but we've got 38 million or something years of pre-history and only 4k or so of history, so where do we get off thinking we're special enough to be last? Oh, that's right nuclear weapons. Oh, that's right, Brisbane runs out of water in six months. Oh, that's right, people hate each other as much as they always have, but we've got a greater capacity for inflicting lasting damage.

Anyway, 2012 or 2013 or whenever, end of the Maian calender, what? Isn't is possible they got bored?

And anyway, 4,000 years of history, 38 million of pre-history, and we remember barely anything from that time. I bet people back then weren't so obsessed with being remembered.
