Got this thing:
But this was an adventure in itself. It was still raining and windy, so I decided to walk rather than risk riding the scooter. I walked to Ace, but they only had a big camping range fitting a huge 3kg can, so I went from there to Home Center. They had the exact thing I wanted... but it doesn't include a can, you have to buy the gas separately, and this Home Center branch doesn't have a license to keep gas. So I went back to Ace, because I thought I saw the correct type of gas can there - but no, there were only cans of lighter gas (250g) and I needed a specific type of 220g can. Sigh. I walked back home. Let's say, I'm not a great walker, I arrived shaking from overexertion, then I realized that I left my phone at home, and my boss was looking for me for an urgent problem that arose in our production environment. Oops.
Oh well. Today I got up early, found where the nearest store that sells the type of can I needed is and ran a few more errands. I think my luck started turning around because I managed mostly to avoid the rain, and just 10 minutes after I got home it started to hail.
But now I had both a range and some gas, and I could finally (at 1pm) make myself a decent breakfast. :-)
This will do for boiling or frying eggs, or boiling water if the electricity goes (which is very likely in this weather), until my landlady gets the gas reconnected.
