Title: Fulfillment is Rain

Summary: Trying to distract Sam from Jessica's death, Dean lets his brother talk him into a backpacking trip to hunt for the cause of some deadly Bigfoot sightings. The backcountry trip takes a turn for the worse when Sam becomes the next victim.

Slammed me right back into Season 1 (having just watched My Bloody Valentine yet again!) - you've got the pre-almost-everything Dean voice just right and it was a nice reminder of "happier" times!

I'm so with you there - they just re-aired 'My Bloody Valentine' here on Thursday but I've been watching the DVDs of Season 1 for writing this story. To see the boys thinking how terrible things are in Season 1 and then think about where they're heading...it really does make Season 1 seem downright cheerful.

It's fantastic to hear that comparatively trouble free Dean is coming through - I'm definitely going to have some fun with him in this one ;)

Oh goody, I shall come here for a cheer-up then, as I think things are only going to get darker from here on in Season 5, don't you? Not that I don't love a bit of dark...

Yes, this story is definitely staying cheery in the spectrum of Supernatural. The boys, especially Sam, get plenty roughed up, but they get to save the day and come out of it all better than they started. Mostly it's just a chance to torment Dean with a camping trip and give him a chance to save his little brother.

So true. I'm not seeing anyway that Season 5 suddenly gets cheery. I don't think the boys have hit bottom yet and every time it seems as though they have the bottom falls out from them again. I have to admit I'm total angst-a-holic though so I love it, just as long as they get put back together again.

Great first chapter.
Season 1, I think, is my favourit of all the seasons.
I think you got Dean and Sam down to par. Love it.

Season 1 was comparatively light hearted compared to those that followed. I haven't written a lot in Season 1, but have been on a Season 1 kick lately. I'm so glad to hear that the boys came off well here.

I just watched Season 1 fairly recently (actually I think the DVD is still in my player). Bloody Mary is good and is pretty much right around where this fic is supposed to take place. My favorite in Season 1 is Devil Trap, but I love most of the episodes - my family always teases me that they're all my 'favorite' ;)
