Lost, and other miscellany

Today was a shitty day for tips. People just don't order pizza in the daytime, not in this sunshiney weather we're having. But it's ok. I'm working closing shift the rest of the week, and that should make up for it. I had a really weak day last week and still managed to exceed my goal for that week.

Tonight I watched a series premier for a really great show called "Lost". What first drew me to the show was the fact that Dominic Monaghan (Merry in The Lord of the Rings, also my favorite of the hobbit actors) is one of the main characters. The show is about a plane that crashes on a desert island, and deals with how the survivors (roughly 48 of them) have to deal with their immediate wounds and survival and stuff, not to mention some new kind of weirdness that exists in the island's jungles at night. It sometimes sounds like machines, and at other times eerie wailing or a whale call. And whatever it is, it has the dexterity to lay a corpse out flat, over tree branches. It's unclear whether it's animal or supernatural, but it's really creepy. You never see the thing itself, nor do the characters, it's all suggestion, and just off the camera; and then there's a strange white dog that doesn't seem to be a part of the survivors. It's very mysterious and exciting. If at all possible (read: "If I'm not working") next week, I will be tuning in once again. This is the most interesting tv show I've seen since USA's The 4400.

Sigh...still haven't heard from Ashley Oaks, even though Cynthia said she'd call some time today. I will have to call them tomorrow, if I don't hear from them first. I'm not sure if this delay is a good sign, or a bad sign. I'm worried in my stomach, but trying to keep cool and keep optimistic.

Until next time, enjoy our Wild America.
