Time for an update:

I am at the end of my 31st week of pregnancy. I passed my diabetes test and everything still seems fine. Jordan's been sitting on a different nerve the past few weeks making it very painful to walk on my right leg. In the first trimester, it was my left leg while she sat on my left siatic nerve. The past few days have been considerably less painful.

I had an interview with the VA State Crime lab a few weeks ago. I despirately need a day job, since Paul will be working evenings, and the state is exactly where I have aspired to be since I graduated college! Amazing and exciting that it's only been two years since then and I have already sparked their interest. I'd have weekends off with the family and paid holidays again. Ugh, such simple requirements for a career, but when you're never had it...

Paul did not get the job with the Sheriff's Dept., but he is now working for Geico and loving it. He started his new job the same week that I had my interview. Praise God!!! He made us wait and fret, but in the end, He does provide. If I don't get this new job, day care will be a new animal. I'm not sure we can afford it on top of everything else. We were hoping to be able to have a babysitter during the week for only a few hours in the evening, as opposed to paying a fixed amount to a day care whether Jordan goes or not. Paul does get a discount on day care for La Patite, though. So that is a blessing, if we need it. Also, if I don't get a day job, hopefully my parents wouldn't mind watching Jordan when Paul and I are both working evenings. Too bad they don't have night care too. Everyone assumes everyone works Monday through Friday, 8-4. I pray for that schedule now.

On another note, our house is coming along so fast now! Everything is in high gear with less than 2 months to go. There is still so much to be done. Paul needs a place to store his belongings, once he moves out of his Richmond appartment, so I need to talk to my dad about getting the bedrooms ready while downstairs renovations continue. The kitchen is totally gutted, the expansion of the downstairs bathroom is well under way. We are ordering cabinets later today, then comes appliances. I think cleaning and painting will take the most time, but soon I will have weekends off when I go on light duty. I want to get in there and start scrubbing walls! The house really will be beautiful when we're done with it and have made it our own. I can't wait to have a swim each evening, after work, before the sitter leaves. It'll be so nice to have that time for me when it is all about the little one.

I also am so excited about seeing our little girl for the first time and everything that is to come. Paul is so excited too which is awesome! He told me he got misty-eyed listening to "Nothing's Gonna Harm You" from Sweeny Todd and thinking about singing it to Jordan. It makes me emotional to think about too.

Paul is such an incredible husband. I couldn't have asked for more. He's going to be a wonderful daddy too.
