I can't believe it's almost September! This year has flown by, and so much has changed in the last 12 months. I am almost always happy. If I'm in a rotten mood, Paul seems to turn that around, 360. It's awesome to feel like I'm settling into life now, as opposed to waiting for something else to happen (as I was with graduation and finding a job). And insurance is AWESOME!! On Monday I went in for an eye exam and I got a full exam plus 6 months of contacts for $10!! TEN DOLLARS!! That's incredible! So despite not particularly liking my job, it's well worth it. Things at the work place have been getting better, though. I changed my hours so I get to spend more time with Paul when he doesn't have to work in the mornings. That's really nice because for a while there, we only saw each other on the weekends or for an hour before sleep.
Haven't heard back from that job I applied to in Norfolk. Good news, though, is that my dad may have gotten me an "in" into the State Lab. We'll see if that works out.
This weekend was nice, spent in Va. Beach. We actually went to the beach and I had forgotten how much I missed it! I hope we get to go again before it gets cold. The water was so nice and I loved showing Paul off, mostly to my family that haven't met him yet. They love him. I loved feeling the waves in the water. There was a semi-strong undertow, so the life guards kept everyone fairly close to the shore. It's awesome to feel the current and try to fight against it, as if you're in control of such a powerful force of nature. I also got to spend some time with my cousin again. She didn't spend any time with the family again. Hard to kick old habits, but it was nice to see her and laugh with her. She seemed to have a blast and wasn't in any pain as far as I could tell. She called me the next day while I was heading back to Richmond and told me how much she appreciated the time with me and how she wasn't feeling well again that day. Well, it's time to go to the vet to get our kitties some more meds.
