So, it's Sunday morning in Montreal. Saturday was big fun. We did up "Old Montreal" in the afternoon and then went shopping downtown. Old Montreal has some great 1800 era buildings and cobblestone streets, but shopping in the Village was better! I found a cool racing jacket for dirt cheap! Of course it will be warm when I get back to Seattle, but the price was right and it is still cool here. Sat night we went to Cirque Du Soliel. The athletic talent of the performers was amazing as was the overall pageantry of the whole thing.
Afterward, we went to a mostly gay club, Unity II. As soon as we walked in, some 30-something tubby guy in overalls asked for my phone number, just like that...suddenly I knew it was going to be 'that kind of night.' Later some 40-something doctor (they always say they're doctors) tried to pick me up. He was very insistent and would not take my polite eventual brush off. So often older guys who like guys my age, also like guys younger than me, like 18, or, like 16, or even like 14 or 12. It gets kinda twisted. I'm totally not attracted to guys outside of my decade. This guy just wouldn't let up though, so finally I just snapped and said, "look, I already said I wasn't interested. You are creeping me out now. You are old enough to be my dad. Even if the thought of dating someone who could be your son doesn't seem a bit sick to you, the thought of me dating someone like my father is just kinda gross..regardless of how much money you say you make."
But anyways, I digress, regardless. We had fun, even if about a third of the dance remixes were in French (that was kinda cool actually). Boys in Montreal have a great sense of style! After about an hour of dancing, we met a couple of really nice guys, Troy and Scott, and hung out with them for the rest of the evening (Gotta love the great conversations you can have at 3 am while snarfing down McNuggets). Today we are checking out of our b&b and are staying at their apartment for the night. Free transportation and lodging as well as cute boy tour guides!
