~My Ivy West tutor came today to help me brush up on my Verbal skills for the SAT when I take it in October. Her name's Lauren, and she's around 25 years old. The session went very well, and I'm confident I'll do well by the end of the course. But that's a boring subject. She also teaches yoga, and when she brought that up, she was telling me that she'll give me some addresses on where she works and stuff. Of course, after the session, she, my mother, and I were talking, and she was telling us about this boy she tutors (who apparently has no life...the poor kid goes to school from 7:30 to 4:30 every day...two hour tutoring everyday, and even has a baseball tutor). Lauren was saying that this kid is lucky enough to see Pirates of the Caribbean and when my mother asked her if she saw it, Lauren laughed and said, "Oh, I was in it!" She was actually the first woman that slaps Johnny Depp, and she was telling us that he was unbelievably sweet and a lot better looking in real life then he does in pictures and in films. Then for an hour, the three of us talked about gorgeous men older, etc. It was a lot of fun. I'm glad my tutor is at least a nice, young fun person and not some strict meanie. Ha!
~When she left, I amused myself by watching Sleepy Hollow. I hadn't seen it in a couple years, and decided to just sit down and enjoy it.
~Yesterday, I saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and while the critics didn't care for it, and although it didn't do so well, I loved it. It had that same adventure style as an Indiana Jones movie. I remember seeing the preview and it reminding me so much of a movie based off of a Jules Verne novel...only to find Captain Nemo in the movie (James Mason still beats all in that area). I also loved Dorian Gray, even though his character was a bit screwed up (someone refresh my memory...he could only die if he killed himself right? And didn't he find pleasure when he would look upon his disfigured self in his portrait?). Oh well. And I, of course, LOVE Sean Connery in just about everything he does.
~Oh and
singsoftlytome...I talked to my mom, and if that Simon and Garfunkel concert does indeed happen, and I get tickets, you'd be comin' along to if all goes well :)
