'I can't marry you, because my jaw is a perfect square.'

So, thoughts on Fast and Loose.  To be honest, I was looking forward to it mainly for the Hugh Dennis element - not a huge fan of improv, admittedly (horror of horrors, but 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' annoyed me so much the first time I ever saw it that I haven't seen it since).  Anyways:

i) No theme tune?
ii) OK, first round is pretty much exactly 'Scenes We'd Like To See'.
iii) Oh, they're all actually quite good.
iv) This second round is awkward...
v) Did they hire tall men for this just so Greg Davies would refrain from 'I'm so tall!' jokes?
vi) 'Greg's name is spelt the same forwards as it is backwards'.  Nice one Marek!
vii) The set is really ugly.
viii) 'Boo hoo, I'm Hugh Dennis, look at my jaw, it's almost a perfect square!'  and 'Ooh, hello everyone, I'm Hugh Dennis, why don't we all play Tetris with my head?'  Completely brilliant, especially the second one accompanied with the head movements down to the floor and Hugh's expression of mock-disdain. Greg Davies = so funny here.  "My name's Hugh Dennis and I've got a face like a paving slab!"  Please let these be a running joke!
ix) Interpretative Dance = rather amusing...for a while.  Jeez, speed it up, come on.
x) The getting-to-know-the-contestants rounds are a bit out-of-sync.
xi) Marek as Terminator raised a smile.
xii) 'I've spoken with my father and he says he's happy for you to give me an apple.'  Just the look after it...priceless.
xiii) Oh dear God, the dancing.  Stop.  Stop please.
xiv) 'I've just swallowed an abacus, because it's what's on the inside that counts.'  Cue groans.
xv) 'Sideways Scene' = by far the funniest thing I've seen on TV in ages.  Seriously quite clever and majorly brilliant.  Great idea.  Kind of wish the whole programme would be done like that.

Overall: it will take a little while to settle down, I think.  But I thoroughly enjoyed it - half hour's worth of warm-hearted comedy full of giggles.  It's fairly nicely done.  Here's to next weeks!
