The last day at home

Some things about yesterday:

i) I went to the cinema and saw the new adaptation of Jane Eyre.  It was beautiful, dark and tragic, true to the book.  Mia Wasikowska was amazing, as was Michael Fassbender.  Really, go and see it, everyone, I haven't enjoyed a film this much in a long time.

ii) More lighthearted: 'QI XL' was excellent.  But at the end, did Stephen Fry say that Frank Skinner and John Bishop were first-timers?  Because I'm nearly sure they've both been on it before.  Frank Skinner with his banjolele was brilliant.

iii) '8 Out Of 10 Cats'! So glad I stayed up for the uncut version.  To be honest, I didn't find it as funny as I found episodes in the last series, but it was still good.  Sean Lock and Jon Richardson can never be on my screen too often.  Although - yes, I've thought long and hard about this - it must be a lot easier to be like Jon when you're famous.  Imagine a normal person constantly going on about having no friends and not having had a date in years.  You just couldn't, could you?

This is my last day at home, ever.  Moving to France tomorrow.  Nervous.  I did too much thinking last summer though about 'home', and how important home is to who you are, and if you're defined by where you come from.  So this time, I'm not thinking about it.  Just going to watch my last bits of TV (does anyone know, can I get the iplayer in France?) and get packing, I suppose.
