So, 'Show Me The Funny' ended last night.
First off, I thought the three that went through to the final were by far the best three, and also my favourites, so well done on the judging front on Monday. Even Kate wasn't as cruel as usual in eliminating Ellie and Stuart.
As for the actual live final, I thought it was pretty well laid out. It was a nice idea to give each contestant a professional comedian mentor (ah Ross Noble ♥). I liked Tiff a lot - she's very naturally funny, and the sort of person you'd want to be friends with. Dan's kind of unique - he does have a way with words, and the ideas he presents are pretty original (although I really don't buy into that whole 'I've never known love' thing, he's too good-looking). Pat's more conventional as a comedian, I think, but that doesn't make me like him any less. Actually, I was kind of backing him to win, so it was great when he did, and the mountain of confetti came down (seriously, was their machine broken? Even 'X Factor' finals don't use that much confetti). I think he deserved it - he's been the most consistant throughout. Well done to him. And, all things considered, if he did tour near me, I'd quite like to go and see him. I saw him in London in March and felt lukewarm towards him at best, but I've warmed to him a lot more during the course of 'Show Me The Funny'.
I can't help wondering if there'll ever be another series. It'd be nice if there was - I think comedy is an increasingly popular niche, so it's nice to see a search for comedy talent like 'Show Me The Funny'. I've got quite attached to it, so it's a good job 'Mock The Week' is coming back soon, because now 'The Hour' is over and '8 Out Of Ten Cats' is on it's last episode, else I'd have nothing good on TV to watch, and we wouldn't want that, would we? :P
