sure, be my guest. I'm curious how you found me, though--you're a photographer..so..one of those LJ image-randomizers?

wow, that's great! oh man, I shouldn't look, I'll get addicted.

best part about mine is that you can modify the URL to view more images at a time.

for example,

http://fresh-elements.com/web/LJ.php?n=200 will show you the 200 most recent images.

it's amazingly addictive, as you say.

what's funny about those things is it kind of proves that everyone on livejournal is the same.

I include myself in this.

yes, yes it does, like...I didn't even let half the page load and there was 1 quiz image, 1 friends-only image, a scenester girls picture, and a couple making out. hm.

babies and pets are popular also.

so are bad self-portrait shots taken from overhead with the flash on.

oh yeah, I love doing those, whooo being over-exposed and hiding blemishes.

i dunno, the blown-out exposures are so two-years-ago.

speaking of hiding blemishes, i was charged with the task of retouching my dad the other day.

here's how that turned out:

that's niiiice, what kind of brushes did you use?

Reply

dinoadventures January 19 2005, 19:19:35 UTC
umm...healing brush mostly. i made a pattern of some skin i smoothed out manually and made it sample from the pattern.

it worked out okay, i think.

it was really uncool of him to drop this on me at the last second. reminds me of why i live alone, lol.

yeaaaah. I was thinking of getting PhotoshopElements but they say it runs so slow and is so hard to figure out that I think I might just stick with the basic program I have.

photoshop's speed depends largely on the file sizes you have. i work on a super-fast computer at home, but at work i use an extremely old mac. even my old mac still handles giant images for press work that i do with reasonable quickness.

it's a lot of fun. i definitely recommend getting it. if you ever decide to step up to the full version, PhotoShop CS Artistry is probably the best book ever for learning it.
