There’s a kind of halo around him, and Sam has been with his brother for so long that his eyes have managed to adjust, but the bank hunt aftermath is bringing it back into focus.
♦ Dean opens for him, yielding, and Sam’s hands tighten where they’re resting on his brother’s hips. He can’t-fuck, he didn’t know that you could be so happy and so frightened at once: so desperately full of joy and dread. Sam doesn’t get to have this. He doesn’t.
