"Only came outside to watch the nightfall with the rain...

...I heard you making patterns rhyme..."

I went to Park Slope in Brooklyn for about two hours for the Lovecraft Unbound reading.

Ellen Datlow posted pictures.

Michael Cisco, Brian Evenson, Caitlin R. Kiernan and Richard Bowes, hosted by Ellen.

It was a neat experience. I would've been fine with a four hour reading.

More pics that greygirlbeast and humglum took are here.

I look as tired as my brain felt. Shortly after that shot, we boarded to come back and Brian was on the same train so we caught up for at least an hour.

I look that tired because I'd finally sent a book to a publisher that nihilistic_kid and I ghosted in the wee hours the night before.

Something silly, other than sleeping in Providence, ten hours travel for two hours (maybe three) in Brooklyn...for a line-up that good, I'd do it again.

About the only other thing is that I finally got to The Contortionist's Handbook. (I confess it was by way of audio, but I listen well, usually with my eyes closed on something that good--eyes closed even when driving a car...) Oh wow it was well-done. I can't wait to check out Dermaphoria because Craig Clevenger did some impressive noir and headspinner stuff in The Contortionist's Handbook. Highly recommended to anyone who likes Will Christopher Baer and is still waiting on Godspeed.
