Today I am proud to be American. I don't know how long it's been since I've said that.
I truly hope that this election marks the beginning of a new era. I wish that Dr. King could have seen it, I wish that John Lennon could have seen it, I wish that all of the hippies of the 60s and 70s could have seen it, that all the citizens of the US are seeing it right now.
I do hope that Obama does his best. I know he can't live up to all expectations because frankly, there are way too many expectations to put on any person's shoulders. But I feel confident that things will be better, and my faith in humanity has been restored to some small degree. And I will pray to any and every god out there that this man is not shot.
The flower child in me is crying for joy at the moment, even if it doesn't show. Peace and love, everybody.
