I just realized that I have approximately six hours in which to write a twelve-page paper.

(By which I mean not really, since it's due Tuesday and I will have some time to work on it between now and then, but the plan was to get a first draft done yesterday. Instead I watched 9 episodes of Gilmore Girls -- 7 of them IN A ROW.)

oh candace! you are sooo following my academic trajectory. i remember 45b, when you were a freshman, and i just loved how you got everything done ahead of time. i, too, as a freshman started things waaaaaay early. but hey, it's cool, i know you'll write a kickass paper and everything will be cheesy-wizzy!

shit, now i kind of want to watch gilmore girls :(
and yeah, you freaked me out by the six hours thing, because mine is due on tuesday too and i was like WHAT!?? NO I HAVE MORE TIME THAN THAT!! :) mine is such a mess :( my notes are SO long and all over the place that i don't even know how to start organizing them into something coherent!

I think the problem is that this paper isn't for an English class, and I feel like the professor and GSI both don't care nearly as much about the way in which the information is presented (such as style and structure) as long as you have interesting analyses and interpretations...which I usually do. So I can get all the ideas out by the end of the night, no problem. It just won't look as pretty as some other papers I've written...

And it's not like I hadn't thought about the paper at all before today; I, too, am a copious note-maker.

Good luck with your paper!

Hahahaha your icon is so teacherly!! It's cute. Yeah, I too feel like papers for other subjects are never nearly as hard. I've been known to spend 3 hours on 1 freakin' paragraph for an English paper, but History/Poli sci papers are easy breezy in the writing (though the research/conceptualization takes lots of brain power!)

What English classes are you taking next semester?

oooh I'm taking the Milton class. I'm excited! A little scared, but whatever, I heard the professor is amazing.

Hah! Yes! I hear the same thing about the prof from someone who's taken this class from her before. I'm waitlisted right now (stupid telebears) but I'm betting on people dropping. Milton is scary. :)
